Texas Women make Texas Men look bad

No. 3 Texas 63, No. 15 Oklahoma 58
No. 15 Washington State 28, No. 5 Texas 20
No. 18 Texas 79, Baylor 57

Note the rankings on all of the teams listed. The first link is Women's Basketball, with a 14-1 record. The second is football, with a 10-3 record for the season. Up until the Holiday Bowl was over, I was content to say we were robbed. After the result, we deserved everything we got.
The third is Men's basketball, with a 11-2 record.

For some last year's figures:

2003 University of Texas Baseball
Overall Statistics for Texas (as of Jul 14, 2003)
Record: 50-20 Home: 28-7 Away: 9-7 Neutral: 13-6 Big 12 Conf.: 19-8
Final Rank: 4

2003 University of Texas Softball
Overall Statistics for Texas (as of May 26, 2003)
Final Rank: Tied for 3
Record: 49-9 Home: 28-2 Away: 5-3 Neutral: 16-4 Big 12: 15-2
Highlighting the many accolades the Longhorns received during the season was Cat Osterman, who became the first player for Texas and the Big 12 to receive the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, given to the most outstanding college player of the year. Osterman also was a finalist for the softball Honda-Broderick Award and the ESPY Best College Female Athlete.

Cat Osterman was also selected for the 2004 US Olympic Team, the youngest player and only collegian on the team. The coming season will be much harder without her.

I'm really sorry I haven't posted in a long time. Things have just been going along, and so I live a mundane little life, not really bothered, biding my time until New Zealand. Work is very slow, I've been told to come in at noon the last few days, and that's irking me, because while I appreciate the extra sleep, I'm not paid to sleep. Pay important, of course.

I'm also feeling a bit down about failing to connect as much with friends in town. There's one from Galveston I'd really like to see a lot more, much more, but I haven't been as direct about it as I'd like. I should aim to call tomorrow and see if she's interested in doing anything. I'm just afraid I'll need more of a reason than the pleasure of her company to explain it.

You're Thailand!

Calmer and more staunchly independent than almost all those around you,
you have a long history of rising above adversity.  Recent adversity has led to questions
about your sexual promiscuity and the threat of disease, but you still manage to attract a
number of tourists and admirers.  And despite any setbacks, you can really cook a good
meal whenever it's called for.  Good enough to make people cry.
